Just start pulling off surfaces (disassemble it in your head). For example, the bottom surface is cn, the sides of the bottom are nx each and cx each. The tops of the horizontal bottom legs are both wn. The left and right sides of the vertical post are nc each, the other two cx each. Finally, the top is nx.

Add them all up and you have your answer. Just look at what needs to be multiplied by two, like the right and left sides and front and back sides. The top and bottom are not symmetrical, so you do those separately.

Edit... Oh, I should add that that is only the outer surface area. If it's an empty structure, you need to multiply the final answer by 2 to include the inner surface.
