how can i create and type emoticons on twitter?

okay this seems quite complected but basically i want to have the verified tick on my twitter. obviously this is not possible as i am not considered famous so i am going to have to create an emoticon of the tick and then add it to the end of my twitter name. i know this is possible with windows live messenger but can it be done with twitter? any help would be appreciated or if someone wants to just do it and then type the image here so i can copy and paste it would be great.
