How can I attract more people to my blog?
On WordPress, I've finally made my own blog. Now I can discuss anything in a way that Yahoo Answers never could facilitate. But I've only just made it 8 hours ago. How can I get it buzzing with activity? I'm going to be talking about projects, and spreading my opinions of all sorts of topics with this blog. How can I get it noticed?

Facebook, Twitter, Google plus ....

And rather than 'spreading' your opinion, you might want to word it as 'sharing' your opinion.

Start building an audience with twitter. Follow people and some will follow back. Share relevant stories about your niche, quotations and other interesting things. Make at least 4-5 posts a day. You also want to post to your blog, like you said. at least once a day for awhile and share those on twitter as well. Find a couple of Forums with your subject and start answering questions and helping. Just be sure to put a link to your blog in your signature. A signature is a space at the bottom of your post that allots you a certain amount of space to put what you want including a link to your blog. It can usually be found under Quick Links or Settings. Just look around, you'll find it. It should be where your profile is located. That should get you started. When your ready for more just follow the link below in the source box.

My first question, and probably most important is..did you build on wordpress.com or did you buy a separate domain/hosting and install wordpress.org.

The latter is much better as you will own the site outright, and have total creative control. It will allow you to integrate much better social sharing options, and will be easier to rank your site in Google search results.

If you haven't built your site using wordpress.org - I would start by doing that, otherwise you will be building traffic to a less than ideal blog.

You can check out http://www.createawebsitehq.com for an easy 1,2,3 step process for setting up a wordpress.org site with your own hosting.

Best of luck, blogging is a great way to get your ideas/brand out there.
