I need some help with Twitter?

I have recently started to learn to utilize Twitter. I have a popular Facebook page and website covering Michigan Sports. Is it possible to find people on Twitter that are from Michigan and follow them, in hopes of them following me back? When I type in key words I get sports writers a athletes, all of which I am already following. I'm sorry if this appears to be a dumb questions and thanks for your answers.

I would recommend a tool like Twellow. It allows you to search for local people. But I don't think it then allows you to filter that list out with type of interests.

You could also use a tool like TweetAdder, which does a lot more than just search. But the search features in the tool are really good.

And finally you could learn a lot more about Twitter and tools like this from an ebook like An Ingenious Guide to Twitter.
