The most is 5 years in a row by clean riders. And to those of you who insist on Armstrong's innocence: If he wasn't guilty why would he himself remove his titles from his twitter profile?

Definition of "the american way": to seek every advantage to be #1 as long as you think you can get away with it (i.e. the end justifies the means in the quest for bragging rights).

Aah, why he side swipe at "the american way"?

There is another person who kept a world title for about 8 years at least. I give you ChuangTseTung alias ZongZeDong. He beat LiFuJung in three successive world table tennis finals. In those days, the champion played only the challenge round.

Of course ChuangTseTung was also the sports minster of China and so Mao thought mandated that LiFuJung who later became a successful coach of the new post liberal Chinese team should throw the challenge round.

What I mean is, if not drugs, then some other form of influence. There is also this world famous cricket player. Apparently when he bats, umpires give him the benefit of doubt since people come just to watch him play.

I found it very suspect. I don't think your definition of the "american way" is fair or accurate.

I did until Lance failed to defend himself and proved me wrong.

The American Way is an unjust comment, their are honest people and dishonest people in every walk of life and in every country in the world.
