Why is my computer running so slow?
I just got my Dell computer last Christmas, and it's been working fine and running pretty quickly. But over the past few days it's been running really slow. I don't really go on any websites other than eBay, Tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter. And if I do go on other sites, I let McAfee check them first. I don't download any big programs, mostly just pictures. The only big programs I have are Mabinogi, Microsoft Office, Skype, iTunes, and Minecraft.

Download Ccleaner and run the program. It cleans all the unwanted files in your pc. Second, scan your computer for viruses, viruses could make slow your system. Third, defrag your hard disk and install all the updates.

If you download 3-4 programs you end up with 20 actually installed on your computer. You need to remove all unnecessary junk and also the bloatware from Dell. Even better go to your local computer store, for $50-60 they can optimize your computer so it will work better than new ( not the bullshit kind that best buy does)

EDIT: I didn't see you are running that McAfee crap....there is your problem right there!!!

Mcafees is your problem. It is full of unnecessary baggage that causes your system to slow down. Try a lighter security system like panda. Trust me ... I used to use mcaffee

Try to cleanup your disk (My computer>Right click>Properties>Disk cleanup), and defragment (My computer>Right click>Properties>Tools Tab>Defragment now)

Defragging computers improves performance and recovers some lost disk space.

I think you have too much scrap content in your pc. Search for CCleaner and download & install it. Run CCleaner and it will remove all unwanted and unnecessary files and cookies from your hard disk. Then I hope you will see better change in speed.
I usually face this problem with desktop. Because I use computer too much and mostly internet, I always face this speed problem. So I usually run Ccleaner every week or after some days and it delete GB's of unwanted files. Tongue
Hope it helps you!
