According to your story she was once black racist but later realized that she should be the warrior of class warfare. She used to believe that it was whites vs blacks, now she believes that it is rich vs poor. She burnt her NAACP card to apply for Communist Party membership.

To be honest, I really have cared very little about this story since the day it became a controversy. It is of little importance to me or to world at large.

Shirley Sherrod's father was beaten to death by three whites just for the crime of being black. And she lost her farm at a time when blacks could only apply for farm loans on Thursdays (whites got all the other days). So you bet she had some things to work through in her head. But there is NO evidence that she was ever racist. The point of her story is she overcame all that. Is your attitude what they call "compassionate conservatism?" I guess you don't believe that "love your neighbor as yourself" stuff?

Yes, this from a woman who won a multi million dollar lawsuit against the USDA. Wonder what that lawsuit was about?

Yeah it's all the "rich" people's fault except for elitist liberals. The woman is an idiot.

She's now suing the conservative blogger for posting the video that made her "look racist".

She is completely out of control and Obama wouldn't dare fire her again. He got himself into quite a pickle.

Here is the REAL Shirley Sherrod:

No. Concern for the poor is more of a Christian concept than a Communistic one.

when did she "apply" for communist party membership? and, what, exactly, does that "application" process entail?

considering that the widow of the white farmer she talked about in her NAACP speech thanked her publicly and profusely for helping them save their farm, i'd say this was a case where a racist person learned the error of her ways and adjusted her attitude accordingly.

she should be held up by conservatives as an example of how to act... but instead you all insist on tearing her down because her politics aren't perfectly in line with yours.

Yes, I agree that Shirley Sherrod's views evolved from bad to worse. In the first video, Sherrod describes how she racially discriminates against a white farmer. She describes how she is torn over how much she will choose to help him. And, she admits that she doesn’t do everything she can for him, because he is white. Eventually, her basic humanity informs that this white man is poor and needs help. But she decides that he should get help from “one of his own kind”. She refers him to a white lawyer.

Sherrod’s racist tale is received by the NAACP audience with nodding approval and murmurs of recognition and agreement. Hardly the behavior of the group now holding itself up as the supreme judge of another groups’ racial tolerance.

The second video affirms the real reason there is tension between the Democratic Party and a growing mass of middle Americans — and it’s not because of race.

The NAACP which has transformed from a civil rights group to a propaganda arm of the Democratic Party and social-justice politics, supports a new America that relies less on individualism, entrepreneurialism and American grit, but instead giddily embraces, the un-American notion of unaccountability and government dependence. Shirley Sherrod, a federal appointee who oversees over a billion dollars of federal funds, nearly begs black men and women into taking government jobs at USDA — because they won’t get fired.

This is why the Democratic Party is scared. This is why the NAACP is scared. This is why black conservatives, previously marginalized as “Uncle Toms” by these progressive bullies, and shamefully, the NAACP, are coming out of the woodwork to join and, in many cases, lead the Tea Party movement.

The emerging Tea Party nation understands that the media has focused on the manufactured racial schism while intentionally ignoring the schism between free market thinkers and government expansionists, that the latter of which is brazen in its desire to transform America into a European-model welfare state with a healthy dose of socialism. o_O
