Help with facebook band page?
Hi! Does anyone know how to choose a url for a facebook Page (not a profile, this is for a band)?
I can't figure it out!
Also, does anyone know how to message all fans?

why is this so confusing and poorly designed!

fan base, book shows, and increase sales. Unlike Myspace, however, the process to create a band Facebook page is fairly involved, and as band pages aren't the focus of the Facebook website, they can be difficult to promote without spending money.

Here are some tips for creating a Facebook page for your band that's complete, well rounded, and attractive to potential fans and booking opportunities.

1. Go here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php and begin the creation process. You'll input all of the simple information about your band--hometown, name, things like that. The actual page will be created relatively quickly, but it'll look a little bit blank.

2. Invite your band members to administrate the page. They can help fill out the various aspects of your website and keep it updated, as well as invite their own friends to become "fans" of your band. It's also a good place to keep your band calendar to make sure that nobody forgets about a show.

3. Upload pictures, gigs, and fill everything out. Gigs will take some time, but add them in, too--there's no point in creating a Facebook page at all if you're not going to use it to promote your band's shows. Write an interesting band bio and put up a good profile pictures and if possible, a video. You'll also want to upload your music, but before you can, Facebook will make you submit proof that you own the songs you're submitting. You can send a picture of your driver's license, and it'll be approved pretty quickly, despite what Facebook says. Once everything is ready, hit "Publish" on the page, which will make it active and viewable.
