Why does twitter keep automatically following people for me?

it's seriously getting annoying i'll get off twitter and when i get back on my entire homepage is filled with spammers and random people i don't know that i didn't follow and i don't know what to do?

It may not be actually following people..But people whom you are following might be re tweeting their tweets thus it seems like you are following them.

First thing you should do is change your password!! and then go through your settings to see which apps are putting this through you can then cancel them. You will not see all this info on your phone though a PC will show this then be aware of opening up websites that are given to you on weight loss which is known for spams & random freebies and its even worse through your DM at times you may get messages from some of your followers which may say there is a rumour about you or someone fancies you do not ever open these because if you do they get your password and start sending followers to you sometimes people want to gain free followers but be aware because you have to give your password and it often gets into the wrong hands block spammers and followers with zero followers no profile pics or those saying nothing except to urge you to open up what website they have first change your password and make it difficult but easy for you to remember follow all of Twitter guideline pages ignore those follow me and i'll follow you all those followbacks just clog up your TL Follow Fridays are great however also do not divulge your personal info no matter how tempting as people may not be who they claim to be stay save retweet loads have fun twitter is great

it's because you've allowed an application to access your account. go to settings (https://twitter.com/settings/account), then click on apps, and then revoke access from any apps you don't want accessing your account. the apps you let access your account can follow people, tweet for you, etc. also change your password just in case!
