How do I get more traffic to my blog?
I just joined google adsense, and I need more traffic. I also signed up for blog catalog, so I can join the community and get maybe a little more traffic. Im not sure if my blog is good enough, and I am very worried all this hard work will not get me anywhere my blog is findingworkonline.blogspot.com

will it appear in search engines?

Hi Alisa,

My first impression is that you're blog is too dark. Maybe that's just a personal preference. As for getting into the search engines, you certainly have put some thought into optimizing your post so it is a possibility that you will be indexed. Its a competitive keyword though.

If you concentrated on longer tail keywords then perhaps you could rank on the front page of google. Use googles own keyword tool for research.

I'm not a big fan of adsense myself because it lets a visitor click away from your blog too easily when you should be looking to get something out of them i.e an email address so that you can follow up.

For getting traffic there are several good methods I'd suggest. Article writing, forum posting, social media, co-registration.

If you want info on traffic methods then please check out my traffic generation club. It's free to join but has some dynamite info inside - http://bit.ly/NiZxT

Also, come over to my blog, leave a comment and my community can perhaps help you with your traffic problem. - http://www.andy-michaels.com

Learn major ways to promote your blog. This includes methods involving RSS feeds, search engine optimization (SEO), social networks, partnerships and community building. Also, popularity is not just measured in total number of unique page hits. You should look for ways to retain readership, beyond a one-time visit. Just visiting and commenting on other blogs helps. Marketing your blog effectively will take time and effort. So, see these posts and tips for promotion ideas:

NOTE: Some web sites or forums have guidelines (like Yahoo! Answers) regarding advertising and/or posting external links. Posting against site rules can get you classified as a spammer and/or banned. So, posting your blog link "everywhere" without restriction is not an effective strategy. Again, see the links above for more productive strategies.
