• Jobs available within your degree field –
• Duties of the position
Depending on which area of marketing you're in, it can range from strategic planning, market segmentation, market penetration strategy, copywriting, creative (design and animation), customer engagement, social media engagement, blogging, product marketing, brand management, partner marketing, B2B marketing, B2C marketing, etc.

• Skills and qualifications/experiences the employer is seeking
Must be a people person (can connect with others easily), should have a strategic mindset and be able to anticipate market trends and how consumers will react to your communication, be a strong speaker/presenter, be able to think critically and analytically, have strong written/verbal skills, etc.

• Education – required degrees and licensing exams, if any
Bachelor's degree is required, and an MBA or a Master's in Marketing Management is usually preferred

• Advantages/disadvantages of the career
Fun career with many exciting moments, able to exercise a creative mind, generally better hours than other disciplines within the business field

• Employment opportunities within the geographic area you wish to live
This depends on where you want to live. New York and San Francisco / Silicon Valley are great, followed by Los Angeles, Chicago, D.C. and Philadelphia.

• Two to three potential employers for whom you would like to work
This depends on you

• Salary range
First year marketing professionals right out of college can expect to make anywhere between 30K-70K in their first year. If you have a natural knack for it and can prove you are better than your peers, somewhere in the 60K-70K range. If not, you fall into an abyss / career death trap of the assistant role making 30K-50K.

As you progress further along, 3-5 years into the career you can be making 60K-120K if you're really good at what you do. With an MBA, you can make up to 160K in a great position likely within a tech company. Anywhere beyond that is the sky -- many Fortune 500 CEO's come from marketing backgrounds.

Hope this helps.
