Backbiting please help?

So ive had an arguement with a group of friends, including some muslims and i know its not good to have a problems for more thsn 3days in islam but ive tried to make things better, i personally believe that ive done enough on my behalf to sort things but these people are TOO stubborn which has made me realise they arent really my friends.

My question is that now we still dont talk to each other, all i see is them talking about me on twitter etc.. Saying bad things should i let them and ignore it or confront them or leave them to Allah

backbiting is a very very very big sin! with most sins you only need to ask for Allah SWT to forgive you and he will but if you backbiting against someone then Allah SWT will not forgive that sin until that person who backbit against you forgive you.
