What programming code are the websites like facebook, youtube, yahoo, myspace, created with?

I'm would like to know what type of code I need to learn to create the amazing features of youtube videos, facebook and complex websites like those.

Its a mix. Html, XHtmls, Javascript, Java, css, and more. I cant think.

Mostly PHP and ASP.NET. ASP.NET is complicated to get going if you are a newbie, but you can start learning PHP pretty quickly.

Those three probably use either PHP or ASP.NET.

YouTube probably runs on Google App Engine which is either Python or Java.

If you're really interested in doing that kind of stuff, you'll find that PHP becomes pretty crappy in the long run. I recommend Django and Python.
