What exactly does upgrading a floor do on Tiny Tower?

I have upraded two of my floors, but it doesn't seem to do anything different. What is the purpose? And how many times can you upgrade it?

P.S. Wouldn't it be cool if you could upgrade residental floors for like 10 bux and then have 10 bitizens move instead of 5???

When you upgrade floors in Tiny Tower it just means that the floor can now hold more stock for the items that it produces. So for example if you have a shoe store and it normally makes 200 sandals then after upgrading it might make between 250 and 300 sandals. It will also take longer to stock. This helps if you want to increase the amount of time you can spend away from the game and still make money because the stock will take longer to run out. The most I've upgraded a floor is 11 times but I am guessing the game will let you upgrade to level 99. I would have kept going but instead I wanted to save my bux for the elevator upgrades. Right now I need 499 bux for the next elevator and 64 floors. It takes a long time to move bitizens so many floors with a slow elevator so I am sure you can understand why I would save them up for the elevator instead. I think it would be a great idea if you could have 10 bitizens per residential floor and it would be even cooler if you could make bux faster too.
