How does facebook choose which stories to highlight on my news feed?
It makes sense when a bunch of my facebook friends like/comment on something and it's a top news story, but why do things like ONE of your friends "liking" a facebook page/comment/status etc. end up being highlighted on my news feed??

I'm not mad, I'm just confused about how the system works..

It tracks everything you do on facebook. It counts clicks, likes, comments....your frnds...education background, activities, hobbies......

Basically it uses Open Graph API that means it maintain your whole virtual identity inside its database...Smile)

Sometimes it also works in collaborations with other websites...to know more about yours.

It works and will be highlighted on your news feed even if a single friend will highlight a story, not a compulsory factor to be highlighted by a mass.
