Is this guy playing games or does he like me?

I really like this guy in my p.e. class and I always catch him looking at me. I friend requested him 2 days ago in facebook and an hour after he accepted it he started a conversation with me.

Him: hey hows it going
Me: hi Him: what's up
Me: nothing really. You?
Him: I'm pretty dam good
Me: that's cool(:
Him: I never really get a chance to talk to you in person
Me: yeah I know. Then talk to me?
*he didn't reply back*

He never talked to me at school. He only stared at me like always. Then he started another conversation with me on facebook yesterday.

Him:hey how's it going again
Me: how come you only talk to me on facebook
Him: I don't know
Me: haha okay..?
Him: so what do you want to talk about
Me: I don't know. You go first?
Him: na you go first
me: I don't know what to talk about. Do you like sports?
*never replied back *

Then this morning he messaged me good morning. I didn't reply back.

Does it sound like he likes me or is he just messing with me?

he honestly seems like any other teenage guy. he seems shy but is trying his best to put up some sort of effort to talk to you, so do some basic 20 questions with him, like birthday, sports, food, music, classes, and invite him to hang out with you at lunch, dont be afraid to be a little assertive! good luck!
