Why do some older kids dislike me for no reason?

I'm a freshman guy in highschool and I'm pretty sure a group of sophomore guys really doesn't like me. I wouldn't be concerned about it, but there's a growing number and lts growing daily and it's all kids that are considered nice or at least not considered jerks who are beginning to pick on me. There has always been a group of a few sophomore guys (initially 3) who has always made fun of me even though I don't know them. They apparently know who I am through Facebook and word of mouth? But recently there were three more of a sepereate clique who caught on to making fun of me. Then it was the main Jock. And now it's even more guys. I feel that the number of those who are talking about me are increasing. They very rarely say anything directly but I can see them talking about me and pointing and staring purposefully at various points throughout the day. I have done nothing to them and I don't know them. It wouldn't phase me so badly if they had a good reason for what's happening. It's only the sophomore guys. The girls don't have a problem with me, but I'm not hooking up with the girls, so there's no reason for jealousy. . I try to ignore them as best I can but its hard. Why are they wasting their time on a freshman and singling me out? ):

It's because you're a freshman. They think that they are better than you just because you're younger than them. It's happens to everyone. I'm a freshman and people pick me all the time because of that. Just ignore that and continue with you're life. You're not alone. Plenty of other people are being picked on for that reason. Don't worry, maybe next year they'll stop and of course. There will be another freshman being picked on. Just wait and it'll stop.
