When a guy friend begins feeling something for you, he can react in several ways.

One is to kind of hide from it, almost telling himself it can't work and more or less putting the idea down, with the feelings there regardless. In this case, he might become a bit distant.

Another reaction might be trying to impress you. He thinks if he acts like all that, then you'll start to like him back. The guys who turn to this are mostly interpreted as jerks, but they really don't mean it that way.

And then there's the shy guy who will get nervous being around you because of his feelings and he will be a bit quiet, however making sure not to stray too far.

Then there's the one who, right after realization, will start being defensive of you and will act very hurt when he sees you around guys he doesn't think of as 'innocent'. In a sense, he may come off as 'the protective father' type, but he's just the one who gets jealous very easily.

There's one who is an expert on hiding his feelings, yet on occasion you will find him acting a bit different than usual. Maybe it's that when passing pencils or paper his fingers lingered or whatnot.

Of course, there's the one who will confess right away. This one is confident, and though still afraid of denial, will stand up anyways.

But sometimes confessor turns into:

Operation 101 guy, who will go through the trouble of touching you more (just in little ways, like holding hands) and always trying to help you out or hang out. These guys come off as clingy sometimes, but they're just working their hardess to gain your love.

Then, there's the type who will try to make you jealous. He makes up a girls name and constantly mentions it, but you've never seen or heard of her, she's not connected to his facebook, and when you sneak a glance at his phone, her name isn't in the contact list.This one tries to make you jealous to invoke your feelings for him.

There's also the humorous guy, who will constantly crack jokes because he is nervous, but because of this, he may say something that will unintentionally hurt you.

That's all I can think of now. This is just a short list of the reactions guys can have, the most common one's I think. Hope it helps!
