Should I buy a PS3 for christmas?
*I WOULD PREFER YOU ONLY ANSWER IF YOU HAVE BOTH CONSOLES*
I already own an Xbox 360 250gb (slim) and It is good at the moment with no problems. But I just feel the need for a PS3, I would only really buy the PS3 for the blu-ray player and the exclusives (Uncharted, God of War etc.) so this is why I am not sure. Is it really worth the money to buy this console just to play exclusives or do you think that I should just stick with my Xbox? I have also heard that the PS3 is the ultimate multimedia device (apart from a computer) right now, is this true?
If I did get a PS3 I wouldn't get the super slim because it just seems really bad, but I would get the 2010/2011 160GB Slim.

I have also owned an Xbox 360 since 2006/2007 (It got rrod so I have the new one now), But to be honest when I was buying my very first Xbox I originally wanted to get a PS3 but all my friends had Xbox at the time.

I guess, When i play an exclusive on the PS3 i usually stick to if for awhile before returning to the PC(Really, nothing Beats PC gaming but that aside). havent touched the 360 in awhile though so might not be the most unbiased person ever =P.
as far as multimedia device goes, its decent. its only lack is support for wmv's & wma's which is missing for obvious reasons. other then that it works all really well.

Get the PS3.. You'll spend less money on that than the Xbox in the long run

I've been with Playstation for 15 years, still have the original PS1 and PS2 in working order. I do have an Xbox, yet to be completely honest, I don't use it very much, other than playing Skyrim. From what I can tell, it varies on what you like to play. I suggest hooking it up to an HDMI cable to really get the best out of the system. The new Playstation Slim is by far amazing, after the fat version broke after five years of gaming +7 hours a week, I can say it's extremely quiet. I've actually left it on over night, not knowing it's turned on. But the real difference between the two, from what I can honestly tell is the games, controllers, internet, and interactivity. The games aren't bad, but my favorite is the Uncharted series, it's mainly a AAA title filled with customizations between guns, your characters, has 10 different modes, 11 different maps, a great developer that takes care of it and frequently updates it, puts a damn shame to COD. Now the controller is great, it's a bit smaller, but is smooth and feels great in your hands. After holding the Xbox controller, it feels clunky and even heavy, plus it goes through batteries too damn fast. You have two options for charging, plug it into your computer with a USB (the easiest) or use the ps3 while it's turned on. It normally takes about a half hour to an hour to be completely charge which last about two days worth of playing or even more. The internet is simple, Xbox you pay for and PS3 is free, which is surprisingly speedy and you can even test just how fast. Based on interactivity, the Xbox is more around social networks, like twitter, facebook, etc. You won't find that on PS3 and you probably never will, the console is built for gaming, not to be used as to say "Hi" to your family members or friends. You earn trophies on PS3 which are about the same as Xbox, no difference. Going onto the Playstation Store, you won't find points, it's all in dollars, which is much more simpler and how it should be. On Xbox Live, what I have found extremely annoying, is the use of Ads, I know they want you to pay, but wasting 300 dollars is enough. For the hardcore gamer you can even attach a keyboard to your controller or use headphones or earphones designed for the PS3. And yes, the PS3 can play dvds, PS1 games, and Blu-Ray dvds as well, which are amazing quality. About ALL playstation games use blue-ray discs and if you get a finger print on it you can easily wipe it off with your t-shirt and it's gone, no smears or marks whatsoever. As in quality I would have to go with the PS3. When I would lift the next Xbox (the slim) I almost felt I was going to drop it or something would fall apart. It just felt so fragile, I don't know. And people will tend to say PC gaming rules, yet it's not always about graphics or the game selection. Overall, a console is the cheapest if you want a decent entertainment system. I don't mean to sound like a fanboy, but, it's all 100% my opinion and hope this helped Big Grin
