Do online relationships ever work...?

Be honest with me, do they ever really work out for anyone? I met this girl a few years ago online, I was like 13 at the time now I'm almost 17. She's just a lot to handle, well she didn't used to be, used to she was a lot more 'innocent' (she's like a few months younger than me). We had problems and up until two days ago we really had no contact with each other. But she added me on Facebook and everything else . And just seeing her Facebook and stuff, it kinda disappoints me..

Honestly she seems like an attention whore. She posts nothing but pictures with tons of cleavage, gets like 10 comments and 70 likes every time and all of these guys are all over her. Plus she's in one photo drunk with her friends. She doesn't seem like that sweet little angel I fell in love with.

I feel like she's worth the effort sometimes, but right now, I just think I should move on. She's just changed so much.. Not just the attention thing, but she really doesn't seem like the same person she used to be.
She seems like every other trashy girl I know.. I really hate to say that, I do. Or maybe she's always been like this and I was too blind to see it. I don't know. I just don't know what to feel.

Plus she just flirts with every guy, which she also never used to do, used to is was just me and her talking to each other all of the time.. :/
