Can long distance relationship still work?

I'm just asking so please no rude remarks. I've been chatting with this girl on Facebook for a few months she lives in Japan and I live in Oklahoma though I am moving to the west coast next month plus im 20 and she is 19. We were just getting to know each other and so I decided to ask her out and she said yes. So she started liking almost all my photos and she listed that her and I are in a relationship. But I also want to meet up with her in person like I already met her younger sister Plus we both have iPhones like I have the 4S and she has a iPhone 5 but she doesn't get on Facebook a lot. I also hear that long distance relationship will not work. So I really need some advice Could her and I still meet up in person and do FaceTime chat?

Speaking from my own experience (2 years long distance and now talking to a Japanese woman living in Cambodia) what exactly do you mean by "work"? You can romance and say sweet nothings, call her your girlfriend but you can not hold hands go on dates or be intimate. How long do you plan to keep that up? You essentially stay celibate for a girl you hardly know and are unlikely to meet soon.

You would have to fly to Japan or she would have to come to the US if you want to check other out.
Such relationships work if you care enough about the person and are prepared to make sacrifices you probably wouldn't make otherwise. Its all a question of attitude and commitment IMHO.

yes as long as you try. I live in Jp now.and I'm a Japanese I have had long distance once. we used to talk many ways like..yea FB, and some other free apps to chat. you know it's hard to keep a good relationship but never done unless u guys stop keep in touch.. that's up to u two. hope everything will work out :-)
