No, I don't think they should go public.
I think they probably will because people don't understand the importance (as with PBS) of having independent things and will not support it properly. I would definitely buy stock, but so would all the morons who don't care where their profits come from as long as they line their pockets. |

I do use Wiki, and have a facebook account which is a bit frightening so I usually avoid it.
While I find Wiki well researched most accurate, it is opinonated, or contributed to, often. If I had money to invest, I'd go with Apple, though high right now, still record growth, and I refuse to contribute more to Bill Gates. |

Maybe they should turn it into a crowdsourced P2P system, letting people provide data storage and bandwidth on their own machines so that they don't have to shoulder the server costs themselves.
