Carly is expecting her father Colonel Shay to arrive in Seattle to escort her to the Father-Daughter Air Force Dance, only to receive an electronic message saying he is actually be unable to come. To comfort her, Spencer asks to take her to the dance, and she accepts. Shortly however, Spencer becomes sick from being sneezed at by Lewbert, the apartment building's doorman; accordingly he is unable to escort her sister. She is visibly confused and upset from all this, given that she had been unable to attend the event with her father for four years, and this year was her last, before she passes the upper age limit. Meanwhile, Freddie and Gibby are informed by Sam over the phone of Spencer's illness, and offer themselves to escort Carly to the dance, to which she cries loudly as a sign of rejecting the offer. Colonel Shay arrives at Carly's home, much to her sudden and pleasant surprise, and escorts her to the dance. Upon returning, Colonel Shay suddenly informs everyone that he has to leave Seattle to return to his base in Italy, and invites her daughter to move to the country with him. Despite her initial reluctance, Carly receives supportive encouragement from everyone and hence accepts the offer. The gang heads upstairs to the studio to stream their final iCarly webcast together, with Colonel Shay present. Carly and Freddie kiss each other for the last time in the iCarly studio alone before she departs. In an airplane, Carly is seen viewing a montage of archived iCarly webcasts on her laptop as she and her dad are bound for Italy.

Notes: A reference to Season 1 Episode 1, iPilot, is made when Carly and Sam make fun again of Ms. Briggs' "pointy boobs". When Carly is on the plane before she goes to iCarly.com, the screen shows Dan Schneider's Twitter page and you can see his tweets. At the end of the episode, Carly, Sam and Freddie look back at when they each first pitched in their ideas for iCarly from the episode iPilot; Spencer looked back at his recently-made video camera squirrel sculpture he was showing Carly in iPilot, it was the last Spencer-made sculpture to catch on fire in the series.
