Well. Depends you will start out with telling you to hook up your iPod to iTunes and stuff then you will have to go through like a thing where it need stuff like location , wifi password ect . Then you will have the apps store , music , Internet , weather , notes , mail , videos , ( maybe YouTube ) , Facetimes etc . If you have wifi just go to App Store download apps and go from there . If you want music download it from iPod for iTunes Store or download from computer

It is a good iPod. It doesn't have Siri, but that is something you can live without. You can get 720p HD video recording, apps, games, music, video, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, email, Safari web browser, Facebook and Twitter integration, Passbook, Maps. This depends on the size though (16gb or 32gb). Overall you should be pretty happy. I would recommend getting a case and possibly a Protection Plan. Just in case.
