The guy I like thinks Im too shy :(?

Okay so recently Ive been at a summer camp and this guy started to really like me and he came over one day to talk to me while I was with my friends . And he sat beside me , and I was to shy to say anything . My friends had to push me to say hi. And then I started to like him and now I really do. Then our camp was over and i didnt have the chance to talk to him at all. My friend met him the other day and found out he likes this girl. And she asked what about me , then he said Im too shy. And I was kinda hurt I never see him apart from following him on twitter , and I dont have a facebook. How will I prove to him that Im not shy ? Because my shynness seriously ruins everything. But when Im comfortable around someone I am seriously the randomest nicest person ever Please help me I really like him
