A question for hockey players?
Alright. I was reading some stupid post on Facebook, and it said all these things that hockey players go through. Which all of the things were pretty legit. Then the last one said, "we tie our skates until our fingers bleed."
Just to clarify this, has this actually ever happened to anyone or was it just some guy acting all that.

Sometimes you can get small blisters, but that only happened when I was younger and didn't play as frequently. I've never had them actually bleed. What you read was just an idiom, it wasn't intended to be perceived literally.

I have had this happen a few times, when I was using waxed laces. The outside of the top joint on both pinky fingers cracked, and bled a bit on the laces. It's not like all my fingers were gushing blood, but there was bleeding happening a few times. It actually caused me to quit using waxed laces - they are very hard, and the edges are actually sharp when they're cold. It happened when I was skating outdoors, and my hands would be cold and dry, too, so that didn't help either. Not a myth.

Rarely do they bleed, but you can sometimes get small blisters.
