How does twitter work?
What's the difference between "reply" "RT" "@" and "#" ...are there any other things you can type and what do they mean?

RT is the retweet.
If you retweet a tweet of a user, on your profile will appear the same tweet of that user, with the username of the original author. In every tweet of other users, passing the cursor on the text, appears "Retweet" that will retweet the tweet if you click on it. In a retweet you can't modify the text. RETWEET - http://help.twitter.com/entries/77606-wh...retweet-rt "@" usually indicates replies and mentions. These are ways to communicate with other users, to reply to their tweets. To mention a user in a tweet, write his username preceded by the @ symbol. The user you have mentioned, can see your mention. A reply is a mention linked a specific tweet. REPLIES AND MENTIONS - http://help.twitter.com/entries/14023-wh...d-mentions "#" indicates hashtags. You can insert a tag in your tweet, write the word of the tag preceded by the # symbol. Clicking on a hashtag there will open a page with the search on Twitter for that word. HASHTAGS - http://help.twitter.com/entries/49309-wh...gs-symbols Ads |
