How do I access my older direct messages on twitter?

I was talking to someone on 30 May via twitter direct messages and I wanted to save it but forgot to. Now when I go to twitter, the messages are gone. According to another website, twitter doesn't delete the messages but archives them in its database. How do I access these messages? And if possible, how do I download them?

As far as I know, you can only access the previous 100. I would like to know if this is not the case. Sometimes I check and some are missing as well as limiting to 100
