How do I remove someone from Facebook chat?

Hey, does anyone know how to remove someone from the facebook chat? like on your profile there is the chat list on the bottom right. Supposing you don't want to un-friend someone but you don't necessarily want to see their name every time you open that chat, is there something you can do about it? thanks!

Yes, click on the Options, Advanced Settings on your chatbox. Under "Turn on chat for all friends except..." type in that person's name. Press Save.

Hi Laura, simply open profile of that person whom you want to remove from chat. After opening his/her profile simply click on Friend button as you can see now you can see Unfriend option in the popup list. Now click on it. You have done it.

Go to Options From there you Can Add them to the Exception List of People to Appear Online
