How to make my band well known?

I'm in a band, and we've posted some songs onto youtube but it hasn't gotten many views. So I wanna know how to build up a fan base? And how to get noticed by record labels?

You have to make some noise for yourselves. Get some gigs, put some songs on a CD and send it to music labels.Even use this site and ask them what they think of your music. Another thing you can do is if you get gigs, sell your CD's. Go to your local subway, perform there and sell your CD's. Create posters and say where you gona perform, even if it is at the subway. Create a facebook and Twitter account, put up updates, tour dates, video's of you guys goofing off, etc.
