Can someone explain to me how my nails are strong but my hair is very fragile I don't understand?
My nails are very strong and it takes a lot to break them. They usually just break off on their own when they get about half an inch long. But my hair is a different story. It breaks easily plus I have split ends. No matter how much I clip my ends my split ends never go away which leads me to believe that my hair is naturally prone to splitting. It sheds like crazy and its making growing it out longer very difficult and frustrating. I know that the same thing that causes nails to grow is the same that makes hair grow. So why am I having issues growing/maintaining length in my hair? My nails are very strong and durable and I have no problem growing them. I dont understand...
@Meep Meep. I don't do anything to my hair. I will however look into vitamins. That may be the issue back when I was exercising a lot and eating fruit my hair would actually grow quite rapidly.

Do you dye your hair or use the hair dryer or straightene a lot? If so, that's why your hair is so weak. If not, then it's probably lack of vitamins that's weakening it. I would ask your hairdresser for some leave in conditioner for your hair type.

well i dont think you are wearing a suitable shampoo maybe it doesnt give much effect towards it so try to change to a new one which have some anti hairfall or hair tight and stuffs.. other reason is your hair do not recieve enough vitamins that its required to stay strong so try to get hair vitamins (they ussualy sell in stores).. try to wash your hair daily for a faster effect Smile

The fact is that nails and hair are a bit different when it comes to taking care of them.

To improve your hair health you should pay attention to certain things:

1. Your diet should consist of nutritions that are essentials for hair, such as fatty acids(omega 3), protein, vitamin D, vitamin C, Vitamin B5, Zinc and... .

2. You shoul be careful about washing your hair. You should not wash it every day since it dries your scalp out causing you hair fall. picking the hair products that match your hair type is very important, not to mention the drying method you use. Blow drying can damage your hair. Do not forget that irons can be cruel enemies of your hair.

3.Stress and sleeping are 2 important factors. If you have a lot of stress in your life and you dont get to sleep much then you should not be surprised by your hair fall. wipe out the stress and try to get enough sleep.

Your hair is weaker because it's being stressed daily by various factors. An amount of stress can instantly induce shedding while it takes time for the nails to get brittle. You hair is prone to splitting because it has prior damage along the hair shaft. You need to use the right products and follow correct practices, regime to get it stronger.
