What to do about my ex best friend?

So me and this girl (friends since kindergarten) used to be BFFs with my current best friend. Now we haven't talked in a year and a half and we are graduated from high school now. So she just direct messages me in twitter saying that we should hang out and catch up before we leave for college, she also gave me her number. But she didn't direct message my current best friend. I know I don't want to hang out again, but should I just text her to catch up? I know we will never be friends again, but maybe she just needs closure ?
