How do i put a facebook fan page link on my profile page?

I see in the left hand of other profile pages a tab labeled pages and then the link to their fan page under it, how do I do this?
When I copy and paste to status this ends up as just a post. I want it to be a permanent link in the left hand of page, the others I saw said 'pages' above the link.

Go onto the fan page you want to share. On the top, there is a box where you would type in a web site's web address. Click and highlight this and then copy. Go back to your profile page and right click where you can add a status. Then hit paste. This will show the link of the fan page you are trying to share.

What do you mean by "Link to their pages under it" ? I have not understood this.
If you be more clearer , the better chances to answer you. Can you take a screenshot of the Facebook Profile page you are referring to ?

I will try to answer , please see if any of this suits :-

1. You can create any number of pages on facebook. , whenever you create a new one , it will get displayed on the left panel.

2. Now, on the page , facebook offers only a few default "Tabs". You can create additional tabs with apps yourself. But you require a little knowledge for this. Go to the developers area ---- > apps. You can do it yourself. I am doing this with a software [ NOT FREE] since i am not a techy person. But I do these things in minutes.
