On YouTube, you can swear as much as you like. One guy posted a comment that he didn't like the new phone. Another replied, "you stupid f*cking p*ssy. Grow a brain you sh*t motherf*cker." It's really alarming!

I frequent these sites a lot. On Facebook, 10 year old boys call each other "stupid," "moron," or "gay." It's really alarming.

I know the internet offers anonymity but think about it. It's still a real person's feelings you're hurting. Something needs to be done about that. You can't police the internet, but can we at least be more respectful to each other?

You can't stop the internet. But what you can do is get off of it, but that is like impossible.

I think that the amount of disrespect over the internet is due to the fact that since we can't see each other we don't think of the impact of our words. Many people think that what they say over the internet will disappear over time, so that justifies their actions.

Because a lot (A LOT) of people think "I'm anonymous" [they aren't], so I can say anything." What is even more appalling is that there are people "in real life" who apparently feel the NEED to call people names for really trivial things. (I personally don't feel the need to call someone an "idiot" unless they really and truly do something idiotic, like pouring all the water onto the ground from a canteen when we are slogging through the desert or something.)
