The easiest way to break a habit is to replace it with something else. It often occurs naturally with out you realizing it, hence why some smokers quit smoking only to find themselves with another destructive vice, such as over eating. If you want to stop spending time on facebook, find another outlet to spend your time on.
Specifically choosing what you are going to replace it with has the advantage of letting you pick something better, instead gravitating toward what ever happens to be near and available. Reading is a good choice, find your library, pick out a few books that seem interesting, possibly find yourself an author whose works you like. I'm a fan of Brandon Sanderson myself, if you're into sci-fi stuff. If you're a more active person, try getting involved in some form of sports. My Dad loved to play pool a lot. He spent a great deal of time at it. It works both the mind and the body. These are just a few possible examples. Ads |
