Facebook Cover Photo/Profile Picture?

I posted a picture on my Facebook timeline. I received so many likes/comments on it I decided to make it my cover photo. However when I uploaded it, all the comments/likes disappeared as if no one had “liked” or commented on it. Does anyone know why this happened? How do I upload an old picture and have all the likes/comments show along with it?

er, you cant.
you could upload the picture you want to use as your cover picture AS a cover picture the first time... then you would get all the likes and comments on that one.
i know what you're trying to do, but unfortunately there isn't a way of doing it. (or i just haven't found it yet... but I'm pretty sure you just cant do it.)
