Why doesn't kik work on my college wifi?

I have the same problem with some other apps but facebook and tumblr and youtube are fine and in my opinion they would of blocked them first over anyother apps if they was going to block apps. But it seems like it's the wifi isn't working with them and causeing them to say there is no wifi connecting to kik and when there is.

Messenger apps such as Kik and games apps often require an incoming peer to peer connection. It is quite possible that the college network blocks incoming connections for security reasons.
