How do I change my current location if facebook doesn't think it's a real place?

I live in a very small town and I guess facebook doesn't have a fan page for it or something so I can't I guess change my hometown or current location to it. Should I move to a big city or is there a chance for me to save the situation?

Its all upto YOU!! it is only viewed by your friends so that they know where do u live currently!

I had the same problem with the place I live (even though we have a fan page )
if you want your "current city" to be displayed on your profile, the only thing you can do is to change you contact information, put you current location on the "address" box!
it worked for me, only the place I live is an outskirt so I put the name of the city on the "City/Town" box.
