How to better my chances of getting on Student Council?
I have been on Student Council for 6 years so I know the basics but what are some extra things I can do to better my chances of making Student Council, in the years of 2009-2010?

Here's what I was thinking, let me know what you think...

*Make a Myspace/Facebook (Fan Club) promoting what I would like to bring to Student Council...?

Step 1: Known to as many of your classmates as possible. Winning in student council is often determined by how many student voters know your name or know who you are.

Step 2: Express to your voters how you plan to change the school for the better. Of course, there are a variety of school policies that are beyond your control, but smaller issues can usually be changed by persistent student council representatives.

Step 3:Hang up large signs and banners around the school. In the hallways, at the entrances and in the cafeteria are great places to hang campaign signs for student council. These are the areas that have the highest student traffic.

Step 4: Develop a campaign theme. Start branding yourself and your ideals to the student body. Before voters can make an educated choice, they need to know what you stand for.

Step 5: Give away free stuff to your fellow students. Little inexpensive items such as pens, pencils and stickers can convince even the youngest of students to vote for you. Keep your items age appropriate and try to have them relate somehow to your campaign theme.

Step 6: Take surveys and ask the students what they would like to see you do in office. This is an effective way to meet more people and get an understanding of general student body concerns.

Step 7: Write a descriptive speech and give it at a school assembly. Your speech should include the reasons why you are running for student council and what you will do to help the student body if you are elected.

Step 8: Schedule a debate with your opponents. Voters always like to witness a good debate between rivals. It shows how a candidate can think on his feet when the pressure is on.

Create a http://www.zoomspec.com profile. It's 100% free and you can upload image/audio and video files to promote your business. You can create a blog, advertise in the classifieds, link to any youtube clips/ myspace etc. you have uploaded, publicise events, participate and promote in the forums etc. and manage it all from a single profile page.

Just to be different and stand out from the crowd, why not create a mini ad campaign video and upload it for maximum impact?

The site members are other businesses, individuals promoting their talent, and peopel who just want to share hobbies, ideas and network. It's ideal for people who don't want the hassle of setting up and maintaing their own website, or have the costs associated with developing, domain name purchasing, hosting fees etc. Best of all, it's quick and easy to set up.

Hope this helps.
