How can I promote my book on the internet?

My book One Life to Ride has its own website and also a facebook fan club. Would like some new ideas on how to get more people to hear about it. Any help much appreciated by a new author.

Word-of-mouth. Do you know who your audience is? What type of person will be most interested in reading your book? Find out where your audience hangs - forums - and start participating in those forums. Many forums will allow you to have a signature that's attached to all your post, and you can promote your link in your signature. Don't spam the forum with dummy post just to promote your link or you might be banned. Also, start a blog and write posts that are geared toward the subject of your book. When you comment on other people's blogs then the link to your blog will show up. Whatever you do, don't spam people's blogs with your link, because no one likes that. If you make a comment on someone's blog then make sure the comment is quality and on subject. Many authors have blogs to promote their writings and books, and they also give writing advice to aspiring authors. You can do the same and if you begin writing quality posts that people can benefit from then you'll gain many followers, assuming you also promote your blog.

Join groups on Facebook that relate to books or books on life or whatever your area of concern is and post a link on your webpage..
