It's for people who think that sending a text to a website - telling all their digital friends they are on the train, or might be getting a cold, or some other drivel - is a really cool and hip thing to do.

Twitter is for people who don't have real friends or a real life.

It is a service that lets people post short messages and read short messages written by people who write things that interest them.

Follow the link when people saw "follow us on twitter" - see if you care about what they have said there.

Its a micro-blogging site. You make comments on what you are and where you are, that sort of thing. Posts are limited to 140 characters.

You may follow people and they can follow you. The site will email you updates concerning the status of people you follow.

Its the latest trend and some major celebrities are on there. Im not sure I see the point of it though to be honest.

Twitter is nothing like facebook, it is like a text message people send and if you follow them then it will show on your page. There is no apps or anything like on facebook its just text. Join up and you will find out.

Bit of a dead loss really. It's sorta like a chat program but more random.

in simple words, you tell your friends (followers it called) what your doing right now or what you find interesting now on the net. you need to ask your friends to signup to twittter and ask to follow you. you also follow them, so you can also check what there are doing at the moment.

its like the status bar on facebook only
you can follow people and see what they update their status to (tweet)
people can follow you and see what you type
(the people u follow cant see what u type unless u mention them)

you can post links to pics etc using pwitpic or something like that

for example - you can follow someone - britney spears maybe, you can see what she is doing like she mite write that she is in the studio today...
you can write to her by putting @britneyspears or whatever it is in the message, she can see that.
but if u put , im bored or whatever she cant.
people can follow you in the same way. then u cant see what they put unless they mention you.

theres also "trending topics" that you can comment on
monday is Music monday so u tell everyone what you are listening to
good if you are looking for some new music!
friday is follow friday so you can recommend people that are good to follow.

i think the idea is to update quite often too.

The practice of blogging, having developed over the course of the past few years, can be succinctly described as the practice, used by people who have nothing of any importance to say, of attempting to "win" one's 15 minutes of fame. If that is the case relative to blogging, then "Tweeting" is the practice, employed by people of even less intellectual capacity to 'win' their 15 minutes of fame using only the 140 characters allowed on a tweet. So, blogging can be analogized to verbal diarrhea, and tweeting can therefore be analogized to projectile vomiting.

And the best part? NOBODY CARES! So Ignore It!
