Just want to know is silver totally free and how do you create one also the free xbox live gold month trial will it self cancel or will I have to cancel it

Yes, silver is 100% free. Silver is basically xbox live without being able to play games online I think.

The xbox gold trial will cancel itself once you activate it by using the code.

It will self cancel and silver is free, but you don't get many privalages

All accounts are Silver before you buy Gold. Silver can't use MP or any apps. It is completely free.

silver is free and basically gives you access to everything BUT online play....that's why you need the gold memebership, and as along as you didn't enter your credit card # or anything it should self cancel

Xbox live silver is totally free. But it means you cannot do as many thing as having gold. The main thing is that you cant play games online. You also cant watch Sky or use facebook, twitter, last.fm or video kinect on your xbox. If you are using a gold trial code it will automatically cancel once the time is up.
