Here's what I do: (obviously you know you have to go blonde to achieve this)

1. Go to sallys and get the following
-the color pink dye you would like
- ion ammonia free lightner
- either 20 or 30 volume developer ( the lower the number the safe and slower it works)
- mixing bowl, gloves, and brush and a plastic cap
- Moisture and protein packet (.99 at sally's)

2. mix the lightner and developer of choice and apply it about an inch from your scalp and let it lighten up about 75% then put the rest on the roots (the reason you do this is because your scalp lets out heat and heat will make your hair lighten quicker. So to achive a blonde that is even do it this way. (DO NOT PUT A BLOW DRYER TO YOUR HAIR WHEN YOU LIGHTEN FOR THE FACT IT WILL FRY YOUR HAIR. IT IS BAD. I'm not yelling its just a strong caution)

3. Rinse it out and put a protein and moisture packet on after you rinse out the bleach. This makes your hair strong after lightening it. If you don't achieve a blonde right away wait atleast a week before re-lightening. This will give your hair time to get stronger again so you can lighten it. I doubt you will have this issue because your hair is not that dark but if you do find this to be true please please please do not re lighten before a weeks time.

4. Add the dye and leave it on for however long it says and rinse it out.

5. Towel dry and blow dry on low heat.

6. Voila!! you are done. and have a perfectly pink color.

I have dark brown hair with pink streaks! My friend does it for me most of the time, but I do it to myself the other half of the time.

-Go to a hair supply store like Sally's, or whatever is popular in your area.
-Buy hair bleach, and the color dye you want. (Make sure it is DEMI-permanent, not SEMI-permanent. Demi-permanent lasts longer.)
-Make sure your hair is NOT washed before you do this. Dye does not take as well to clean hair.
-Seperate the parts of your hair that you want dyed.
-Follow the instructions on the package of bleach to activate it.
-Using your hands with gloves on, or a dye brush, cover the streaks of hair with bleach thoroughly.
-So bleach doesn't get everywhere, cover the streaks with tin foil.
-I usually keep mine on for about an hour because my hair is very dark, but how long it should be on is very dependent on your hair.
-You should wait until your hair is white or very light blonde. I go with very light blonde because if you wait until its white, your hair will likely be damaged.
-Thoroughly rinse out all of the bleach.
-I suggest waiting 24 hours before adding the color, but do what you want.
-Rub the dye thoroughly in the pieces you dyed blonde, making sure its completely covered.
-You can keep the color on as long as you like, because once the color is in all the way, it will not get any brighter.
-Wrap the pieces in tin foil.
-Wait about 2 hours to ensure it is in as much as it will be.
-Thoroughly rinse the dye out of your hair.
-Take a shower and make sure you use color-protectant shampoo and conditioner.

SIDE NOTES:
- Wear clothes you don't mind getting all covered in dye.
-Don't be alarmed when dye comes out in the shower. This will happen the first few washings.
-Use conditioner and heat protectants so your newly dyed hair does not get damaged.
