How to boost raffle ticket sales!? Help!?
My work and I are selling raffle tickets for a $500 walmart gift card (we are a business inside walmart) to raise money for a local girl with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We are asking $5.00/ticket or $10.00/for 3 tickets These prices have served us well in the past for similar items...but now we only have 3 weeks to raise as much as we can and sales have been very slow. Any suggestions on how to increase our numbers is greatly appreciated!

Hi Robin!

Can you get the store to print a unique message on the cash register receipts? If so, maybe that would encourage people to check it out.

You could throw up a quick little Wordpress webpage and have a PayPal button on the page, actually two buttons. One for the single ticket and one for the triple ticket. Then have the website address on the receipts so people might go there later at home. I guess they would have to print out their paypal receipt to pick up their ticket later. details, details ;>)

In doing this you could possibly get a domain name like http://www.make-a-wish-atlanta.com

After you do that, get on Twitter, or find someone that is familiar with it..talk to your kids, and tweet the heck out of your raffle. I have heard some great things about charities doing well on Twitter.

Then put up pages talking about the raffle with links to your website on:
Squidoo.com
Hubpages
Blogger
Facebook
Weebly
etc. There are a million social networks to do this.

All those links will help get the word out and get traffic to your Raffle.

Then, unwrap one of those video cameras in the back of the store, record something cute and submit it to youtube with your web address in the description.

Then put a little press release together and send that to your local paper. They might write some and it would be free.

Also, if there is another Walmart in your location that has a similar business as yours there, you could "challenge" them to sell more than your team, knowing you will probably have to reciprocate at sometime in the future.

Yes...a lot to do in the time you have, but not impossible if you have some help.

Let me know if I can assist in anyway.

Good luck, and thanks for your charitable efforts!
