Why do people on facebook/online upload pictures that look nothing like them?

It is them but when they take the picture, it looks nothing like them...? It's kind of weird...they try to look prettier...but in reality they are already pretty? That's what everyone does on my facebook...like different angle shots? Any comments?

I guess that those people are having fun with taking pictures, so they like to change things up a little bit.
Or they feel insecure and don't want people to see their usual self, even if they already look good.
But mostly, when you show people a picture of yourself, you don't want it to be plain and boring so you add a different style and look to it. I guess that's why they make their pictures look different!

A. it makes us feel better about ourselves
B. To make it different
& C. just to do it for fun or we don't like our regular pictures
