How can I get a website developed that is like Twitter?

I want to create a website that is like twitter but a little different. But I don't know how to go about it? I want people to be able to sign up just like twitter or youtube and create their own blogs and upload videos and at the same time rate products. How do I find a web developer? There are so many out there how do I pick one?

Unless you've got thousands of dollars available you aren't even going to come close.

It would take a developer years to create you a decent blogging system never mind something that can handle video.

You would also need a ton of money just to host and deliver all this data and even after that people are still going to use YouTube.

Sorry but you are better off starting with something less ambitious!
