Why the world compares taylor swift or justin bieber to the likes of michael Jackson?

i mean seriously, youtube, facebook and twitter has surely made them popular but the music that michael jackson produced was global literally, the songs had meaning, great music... all about being an awesome artist.. ok taylor swift has two or three good songs but still doesn't mean she is as good as MJ, i personally like love story, you belong with me and safe and sound... but what justin bieber has put out does not seem to fit in my taste of music... in my eyes he is ok not that great? he may be popular but not a great musician... i personally dont have any fav artist but yes i am die hard fan of a band called junoon.... otherwise i just listen what i like

probably because they have some popularity now so they compare them to the performer acknowledged as "the king of pop". i say wait thirty years and see if swift's and bieber's are still popular and performing to large audiences

They are crazy. There's NO WAY Justin Bieber can be compared to Michael Jackson (or Kurt Cobain, who Bieber often compares himself to). Taylor Swift and him have only got to where they are based on teens that become obsessed with them. theres no real hard work in that. not like Jackson, who trained so hard to make himself individual. That took genuine talent and hard work. Now, you can become famous with nothing more than a face that people love and cute songs about 'love'.

I agree, Michael didn't have help from twitter and facebook compared to these young pop Artists. I find Taylor swift alright but she's trying to move into the pop genre as she's probably not earning enough. Her recent music video is not even like her. Nowadays social netowork sites are mostley crontrolled by teenagers that's why they're so popular and always on the charts. Children nowadays don't know what actual music is. Justin is decent. I'm not a fan of him either. He doesn't annoy me, his fan base do (they're always on twitter. They don't obsess over his music. They obsess over his looks. Same as One direction. Not one fan do I see metion their music ever. Just their looks) It's because they're so popular at a young age as Michael was too, they may have a sucsessful career simillar like Michael did.
