How should I go about making a Facebook page for my company?

We do automotive accessories. I already have a personal facebook. Should I start a whole new profile? Or should I start a group through my current account? I am wanting it to be very professional and want people to become a fan, not really friends. What do I need to do? Thanks!

I would create a fan page. You will be able to access the information, invite people to become fans, send messages to fans, create events for the company, etc. I manage a band, and created a fan page for them on facebook. There's a lot of cool stuff you can do with the fan page, so this is where I would start, then see how it works for you.
