Why did this guy lead me on?And then got intrested in my best friend?

This I initially did have a crush on and I am 500% sure he was INTRESTED me in.He added me on facebook and we started talking.
We would talk and sometime travel back home in the subway together, after college.(We live near by)
He took my number from somebody else and we started texting each other frquently.
He then added my best friend on facebook.And they've been talking so frequently.Almost everyday infact I now think my best friend has the hots for him which kind of upsets me because she knew I had a crush on this guy.But oh well I don't blame her maybe they did get along well.Anyway whats really sad is when they were talking almost everyday she then had a bf and never really told him about it.(She recently broke up with him anyway).She gave him his number and they text each other now.
they EVEN travel together in the (metro)subway after college.
Now he even texts her asking her if she'd want to travel with him.( which he never really did to me)
Now I'm wonder why did he take my number from somebody else and even make the effort to text me?and do all that shiiizzzz when he had to fall for MY BEST FRIEND. (which in a way I INTRODUCED).
Is it ok for me to feel a little betrayed by my best friend?I get the fact that they prolly get along better,but I feel she should have maintained her distance knowing I liked this guy.
Anyway the three of us travelled in the metro or subway or whatever together the other day and he seemed really upset and low and nervous I think it's because he understood what he did there. LOL.
I don't know.
what do you guys think?
I get ALOT of male attention in college.Just btw, if that helps. LOL.

he is neither intrested in you nor in your friend.or may be you are less intresting girl than your friend.

Its just very simple, he is more interested in your friend than you.
She may be more attractive and he may like her much than you in many other aspects.
Just stop thinking about them, don't make them break because of you.
Just find another partner who best suits you and enjoy with him.
