what are the political, environmental, social, technological, economic and legal issues that affect a business when marketing a product/making a new one. How have these changed in recent years.

Local business laws need to be complied with, environmental circumstance given due consideration, social and cultural traditions and mores need to be complied with and laws or conventions that affect the acceptance or viability of a marketed product or service.

The constant change technological, cultural and political affects directly consumer bias and demand. One ether requires the tenacity to control and determine the demand of a readily available supply or conform to any status quo vis a vis pertaining to business law.

This sounds more like a business related question than an economic question.

Political:
political negotiations
peace treaties/war zones
free trade areas

environmental:
source from environmentally friendly materials and suppliers
negative externalities/byproducts

social:
affecting culture/image
affecting local jobs
source recognised e.g. if made by Brits or somewhere in Europe

Technological:
can it be bought over the internet?
digital goods
speed of delivery

Economic:
where can we get it for cheaper
source of competition (5 forces, SWOT)
long term strategic options
exchange rates

Legal:
quotas
tax
intellectual property laws
stretch of legal protection
differences in international laws

I'm going to give an example:
an entrepreneur, that I know, is able to source his labour and materials from all over the world at a fraction of the price he has to pay his workers in the UK (whilst providing the foreign workers reasonable standards of living) using his ipad.

Hope this helps
